Give OUT Day is the ONLY national day of giving for the LGBTQ community – a 24-hour online fundraising event that unites the LGBTQ community from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and D.C. to raise critically needed funds. Throughout the day-long event, thousands of people make gifts to support a vast array of LGBTQ nonprofits across the country, ranging from the arts to social services agencies, advocacy groups to sports leagues, community centers to health care nonprofits.

This year TAPVirginia is proud to participate in Give OUT Day, the ONLY national day of giving for the LGBTQ community. Your donation to TAPVirginia helps us offer our clients direct food assistance, transportation, assistance with prescriptions and other medical needs, temporary housing, and so much more! Be the change you wish to see. Remember, it doesn't matter how much you give, or what you give, only that you give. Whether you are transgender or one of our allies, please know we greatly appreciate your support!

Mission Statement
The Transgender Assistance Program of Virginia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to end homelessness within  the local transgender community in Virginia. Our goal is to offer safe emergency and temporary transitional housing to homeless transgender adults in our community, and to help them find the additional resources they need to remove the barriers to self-sufficiency.

Our program is unique because it is run by the transgender community for the transgender community.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to see the transgender community, and their allies, unite together to help transgender and gender non-conforming members of our community receive the resources they need to recover from hardship, free from discrimination, harassment, or violence due to their gender identity or gender expression.

Our Programs

Our main program is the
Emergency Assistance Program which is board-led and comprised of a network of compassionate volunteers who are carefully selected and trained to help homeless transgender adults from all walks of life who suddenly find themselves without a home. This program helps provide our clients with transportation to temporary housing while we put them in touch with local services to help them get the resources they need to get them back on their feet.
