Support our $50 from 50 friends outreach campaign!

With the help of an incredible group of supporters, we made this award-winning film that celebrates family, friendship and gay rights. We've been organizing festival and community screenings across the country. But we need your help to bring it to new communities…

Now, more than ever, THE GUYS NEXT DOOR can have a real impact. The issues raised in the film - gay parenting, surrogacy as a path for having children, and the redefinition what it means to be a "family - are particularly relevant as we are witnessing new threats to the civil liberties of the LGBTQ community and families. The power of our film is the way it demonstrates, with humor and grace, our shared humanity.

We’ve been blown away by how audiences walk away with a deeper understanding of how family is family no matter how it is formed. Your tax-deductible donation will bring the film to more traditionally conservative states like Louisiana, Tennessee, and Mississippi, who need to hear this important message.

If 50 friends gave $50 today, we'd reach our goal! Of course, every little bit helps. Thank you!

Our success thus far

Since our world premiere last April, the film has screened all over the country - from NYC to Montana to Maryland to North Carolina. And, we've partnered with organizations like Planned Parenthood, Family Equality Council, and Jewish Community Centers to help us reach viewers we may not reach on our own. We’ve also begun to have screenings at high schools and universities.

Let’s keep the momentum going!

It's Give OUT Day - a 24-hour giving event for the LGBT Community - and we're asking for your help to bring THE GUYS NEXT DOOR to communities that have limited exposure to gay families. There are hard costs (shipping, marketing materials, hiring an outreach producer to get the word out, travel for the filmmakers) to bring the film to a new place. Most festivals and community groups can't afford to cover them. Will you donate today?

About the film

THE GUYS NEXT DOOR, a feature-length documentary, is an intimate portrait of a real “Modern Family.” Meet Erik and Sandro, a gay married couple whose friend Rachel is a surrogate for their two daughters. Rachel, who is in her 40s, is married to Tony and they have three children. Together, they form a unique extended family.
