APIENC (API Equality - Northern California) is a small grassroots organization building power for and with LGBTQ Asian and Pacific Islander people. With limited funding and resources, we train community organizers, convene intergenerational spaces of learning, mobilize for trans justice, and create cultural shifts in the ways that our communities understand racial justice and trans justice. Individual donors make up over 50% of our funding, and these are the folks that keep us going from year to year.
The more that we can trust in our own abundance, the more we can dream together about our long-term liberation. This year in 2018, there’s urgency and need for us to grow our staff, leadership, and collective strategizing skills alongside our growing volunteer-member base. If we're able to grow our team staff-volunteer-member wise, we can more readily and intentionally activate each other for the social change we want to see.
APIENC is fundraising on Give OUT Day,Thurs. 4/19, the only 24 hr national day of giving for LGBTQ orgs in the U.S.! Our goal is to raise $15,000 and reach 350 donors by 9 pm on Thurs. 4/19. Our efforts for Give OUT Day will directly support our summer activities, including the upcoming Trans March contingent planning and political education, our 9th leadership development cohort of five summer organizers, a two weekend API Queer Justice Leadership Exchange, and so much more!
Can you help power our work together on Give OUT Day? #POWtogether #APIENC
